Class "A" Training

CDS Tractor Trailer Training is committed to providing professional training and job placement assistance to its students. Our workforce has many years experience
in trucking, with many of those years in the training and placement of new drivers.

Our school is located between Richmond and Fredericksburg in Thornburg, VA. We have Full time classes Monday through Friday from 8 am until 5 pm for four weeks. Our Part time class runs Saturday and Sunday from 8 am until 5 pm for ten weekends.

Our program consists of classroom instruction, backing and on-the-road training. Students enjoy our hands-on approach to training. Students are in the trucks the first day.

CDS has 12 tractor-trailers and 8 full time instructors. This allows students more truck time and better quality training. Most schools operate with 1 or 2 trucks and 1 or 2 instructors trying to train 10-15 students.  At CDS, students train in small groups of 1-3 students per truck and instructor. It is a very good idea to visit a school to observe the training and talk to students before choosing a training program. You are welcome to visit CDS.

Job Placement Services are our focus from the beginning of training. Students select the carrier they desire from the many to choose from and there are NO EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS TO SIGN! We are there to assist with applications, answer questions, and guide students to a carrier in which they will be happy.

Tuition is $5,000. Students using their own resources will receive a $1,000 discount to $4,000. CDS will accept Mastercard and Visa. We have guaranteed financing available.  Even if your credit is weak we will still be able to finance a portion of the tuition.  Most carriers offer tuition reimbursement to help new drivers recover most, if not all, of their cost of training!  This a benefit, like health insurance.

Class "B" Training

And Bus Training

CDS offers a 15 day program for Class “B” Training. This course will certify an individual to drive vehicles such as dump trucks, large straight trucks, and a mixer truck. We train in small, hands-on groups.

Like our Class “A” training, CDS has financing available. Tuition is $3,500 for Class “B”. A discount of $500 is offered for cash or credit card making the tuition $3,000.

Classes start every other Monday. A student can attend full time Monday through Friday for three weeks or part time, Saturday and Sunday for 7 weekends or have an individual schedule arranged through CDS.

CDS will assist in Job Placement of graduates. Most of these jobs are local and in high demand. Average earnings are $35-45,000 first year depending on the area you live in.

Bus Training:  A student can add the passenger “P” endorsement for an additional $500.  This would consist of 3-5 days of additional training and would require a full road test with a DMV tester. Costs will vary based on state you are licensed.
