How To Enroll

1. RESERVE YOUR SEAT: Call CDS at 1-800-646-2374 to reserve your seat as soon as possible. Seats are available on a first-come basis.

2. PERSONAL INFORMATION FORM: Complete form and mail or fax it to CDS at

(540) 582-4022 or apply online using the Apply Now option on the left.

3. LEARNERS PERMITS: YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE YOUR LEARNERS TO START TRAINING!  All students should be studying for their learners permits prior to their start date. You need to study the following sections:

General Knowledge, Air Brakes & Combination Vehicle

Hazardous Materials will be taught during the training and is optional, but recommended.

Virginia and Maryland Students can try to obtain their CDL Instructional Permits before starting class. CDS does not recommend a DC student attempt to get their
Permit until they have had proper preparation at CDS since DC DMV only allows for 3 test attempts before imposing a 1- year waiting period to retest. The MD MVA and VA DMV allow multiple attempts to pass the learners.

4. DOT PHYSICAL: Most students get their DOT physical through CDS at a cost of $65. A student can choose to go to his/her own physician. A proper DOT physical form can be downloaded from the internet. A drug screen is also federally required and is done by CDS at a cost of $60 during the first week of training.

5. FINANCING: CDS has guaranteed financing even with weak credit. Complete the enclosed personal information form front and back and return it to CDS or apply online at www.cdscdltraining.com.  Balances not
covered by the loan can be paid while attending school.  A cash discount will apply to students using their own resources. MasterCard and Visa are accepted.

6. LODGING: There is lodging available at a nearby motel. Rooms come with a microwave, refrigerator and two double beds. Students at the motel will also enjoy a Free Breakfast each morning. The outdoor swimming pool is open in-season. Rates are $50 per night for single and $25 per night for double occupancy.

Full Time:

Two students sharing a double room for 4 weeks Mon-Thur nights - $400 per person
One student in a single room for 4 weeks Mon-Thur nights - $800

Part Time:  

Two students sharing a double room for 10 Saturday nights - $250 per person
One student in a single room for 10 Saturday nights - $500
