We have 8 tractor-trailers and 11 instructors (2 part-time). This allows students more truck time and better quality training. Most other schools operate with 1 or 2 trucks and 1 or 2 instructors trying to train 10-15 students. At CDS, students train in small groups of 1-3 students per truck and instructor.
It's a very good idea to visit a school to observe the training and talk to students before choosing a training program. You are welcome to visit CDS.
Classes schedules are full time Monday-Friday and part time Saturday-Sunday. In the event the full time or part time schedule does not work for you, we can custimize a schedle to suit your needs. Classes are 20 days long.
Our office staff consists of 5 full time personnel who are able to assist with enrollment and job placement services. Job placement is our focus from the beginning of training. Companies recrute on-site directly from our classroom. Students are then able to select the carrier they desire from the many to choose from. There are NO EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS TO SIGN! CDS staff will assist students with the application process, answer questions and guide students to a carrier that best suits their needs.
CDS will assist you with creating a financial plan that works best for you.
CDS works with numerous agencies, lenders and state programs. Including Social Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, On-Ramp, Trade Act, Freedom First Credit Union and many other public and private funding sources. Many students may qualify for assistance through college Grants or the Workforce Programs.
